Prof. Dilip K. Bandyopadhyay (Vice Chancellor)
Prof. Dilip K. Bandyopadhyay is a visionary leader in India's Education community in modern times. A gold medalist, a Ph.D. in Computer Applications, a fellow from ESSEC Business School, Paris and an inspiring professional. He has over 70 research contributions and published many papers in reputed national and international journals and won many awards for those. He brought different innovative changes in the young and dynamic professional university with almost 70,000 plus students in 13 University Schools and 111 affiliated colleges mainly imparting education on Engineering, Management, Law, Medical, Architecture, Education, Mass communication, Bio Technology, Commerce, Communication, Nano Technology etc., at under Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctoral level and positioned it in the next orbit in terms of research and outreach services.
Mr. Amitava Banerjee (Mentor Marine)
Mr. Amitava Banerjee is a distinguished alumnus of the-then DMET (1973-’77 batch), now the Indian Maritime University (IMU). He holds an Extra First Class (India) Certificate of Competency (i.e. the highest Certificate of Competency by international standards) and a Post-Graduation in Maritime Safety Administration (Marine Engineering) from the World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden. He sailed for about 8 years on board cargo ships, oil tankers, bulk carriers, and LPG and passenger ships. After serving the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India, and Mumbai as Chief Surveyor-cum-Additional Director-General & Ex-Officio Chief Examiner of Engineers for 6 years, he retired voluntarily in November 2014. During his tenure with the Government of India, he represented India for more than 10 years as member and head of various delegations to the IMO, Marine Environment Protection Committee in particular. Presently he is attached as the Director of the School of Maritime Studies of The Neotia University. He is also a Special Advisor to the American Digital University, USA, for co-coordinating the E-learning programmer related to Certificate of Competency examinations of the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India.
Mr. Angshuman Chatterjee (Mentor, School of Hospitality & Culinary Art)
Mr.Angshuman Chatterjee has been a leader in the Hospitality Industry with thousands of his students working in the higher echelons in the hospitality, tourism and allied industry. After working successfully in the industry,Mr. Chatterjee started his teaching career in the Government of India Hospitality College in Kolkata. He chose voluntary retirement after teaching for 21 years and served several colleges as Principal/Director. He was the Corporate Head-HR of a Global Multinational Company spread across 11 countries and also worked for the AmbujaNeotia Group as the Chief Learning Officer & Head-HR, Hospitality.
Mr. Chatterjee is a Government of India certified trainer and has criss-crossed the country conducting different modules of courses for people from different professions like IAS, IPS, Banking, Insurance, Railway,College Professors, etc.
Mr. Chatterjee has been a visiting lecturer for almost all the hospitality colleges in eastern India thus expanding his student base. He has been a leading consultant for several hospitality projects in West Bengal & beyond.
Mr. Chatterjee has a track record of more than 30 years and has proved his mettle as a Teacher, a Trainer and a Mentor.
Dr. Biswajit Ghosh (Dean Engineering Sciences)
Biswajit Ghosh, Professor of Energy Engineering and Dean of Engineering Sciences. Professor Ghosh received his M.Sc. degree in Physics from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, PhD and D. Engg. / D.Sc. (Engineering) degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He is involved with photovoltaic research at Jadavpur University since 1978 and made pioneering contributions in the field of electrical contacting technologies to the opto-electronic materials & devices in general and thin film photovoltaic cells in particular. Using electro-chemical and defect induced contacting techniques he opened up new avenues of research. He also discovered of electro-kinetic effects from photovoltaic power plants which showed its potential applications for ‘Agrivoltaic’, the duel use of land for energy and food security.
Professor Ghosh involved with School of Energy Studies, the first interdisciplinary academic unit, at Jadavpur University since its inception period. His original scientific and outstanding technological works placed the School at the global academic forum.
Prof. Ghosh worked as the postdoctoral researcher at Stuttgart University, Germany, Fellow of European Commission and Visiting Reader at Northumbira University at Newcastle, Academic Visitor at Imperial College, London, Royal Society Overseas Scientist at University of Surrey, Guildford and Visiting Professor as well as Leverhulme Visiting Professor at Newcastle University, Newcastle, UK. Apart from fundamental studies Professor Ghosh is also involved in design, development, installation and monitoring of several MWp level grid connected photovoltaic power plants both in India and abroad. He also worked with United Nation Industrial Organization (UNIDO) as advisor in Energy & Climate Change. Government of West Bengal honored him with ‘Sikharatna’, the ‘Outstanding Teacher’ and National Institute of Technology, Agartola, honored him with D.Sc. for his outstanding contributions in Science, Engineering and Education.
Professor Ghosh published more than 100 research papers in reputed SCI Journals and Conference Proceedings, generated 12 patents, wrote two book and several book chapters. His research papers were cited in many publications.
Dr. Sujoy Biswas (Visiting Faculty)
Dr. Sujoy Biswas is the HOD of ECE and also the acting Principal of NITMAS. He was actively involved in design and development of various RF projects for Schomandl (Germany), Indian Defense and Space organizations like DRDO, DEAL, SAC, and ISRO.He has worked on designing various RF subsystems for 3GHz/1GHz signal generators, 1kW power amplifiers, DIFM receivers to name a few.
Dr. Biswas is a member of IEEE and is the present Vice Chair of IEEE AP-MTT Kolkata Chapter.He has served various International Symposia & Conferences in his field. He was awarded by IEEE AP-MTT Chapter of Kolkata for his efforts in organizing a flagship event Indian Antenna Week (IAW) in 2010. He is on the board of reviewers of several international journals including IEEE Transaction on Antennas and Propagation, IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, IEEE Transactions on Components, Packaging and Manufacturing Technology, Elsevier International Journal of Electronics and Communications, and Taylor & Francis Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications. He has also published technical papers in international journals and conferences, and a chapter in book entitled Microstrip and Printed Antennas: New Trends, Techniques and Applications from Wiley, UK.
Dr. Amit Sarkar
Dr. Sarkar is an academician whose passion lies in undergraduate as well as post graduate teaching. His research programme focuses on molecular genetics of disease causing bacteria and how they interact with the hosts to cause disease. He completed his B. Sc; M.Sc in Life sciences from Visva Bharati University, West Bengal and started his research career as a doctoral fellow from the Department of Microbiology, Bose Institute, Kolkata. He has also received senior research fellowship from CSIR, India and was awarded Ph.D degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. His Ph.D research topic focused on molecular characterization of Non-Cholera Vibrios and to gain a better insight regarding their genetic differences as compared to their epidemic causing counterparts. Dr. Sarkar conducted his post-doctoral research from Rocky Mountain Laboratories, National Institute of allergy; infectious diseases (NIAID), National Institute of health (NIH), USA with a federal government visiting research fellowship. His postdoctoral research primarily focused on understanding the host pathogen interaction and identification of novel virulence genes of Lyme disease causing bacteria Borrelia Burgdorferi. He has so far nine peer reviewed international publications of which two were published as corresponding author. He also attended several international conferences in USA to present his work. He has contributed as an author in a book: “Epidemiological and Molecular Aspects on Cholera” published from Springer. He is currently actively engaged in teaching and mentoring students of integrated M.Sc course of Biotechnology at The Neotia University. Additionally, he also leads the academic activities and looks after the administrative affairs of this new discipline. His current research interest lies in the characterization of the virulence genes of Marine Vibrios.
Dr. Ankush Ghosh
Dr. Ankush Ghosh has outstanding research experiences on Spintronics- a field of Nanotechnology and published more than 45 research papers in International Journal/Conferences. He was a research fellow of the Advanced Technology Cell- Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO), Govt. of India. He was awarded National Scholarship by HRD, Govt. of India. He received his Ph.D. (Engineering) degree from Jadavpur University in 2010. He has teaching experience of more than eleven years in the Institutes: Behala College, Dream Institute of Technology and Jadavpur University. His undergraduate and post graduate teaching assignments include Electronic devices, Microprocessor and microcontroller, VLSI and nano devices, Embedded and real time systems etc. He has attended a number of Refreshers courses, FDPs and national/ international conferences as well. He also has given Invited talk/ lecture in various Seminars, workshops and Refreshers courses. He has guided a large number of B.Tech and M.Tech thesis and currently guiding a Ph.D. student under Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Dr. Ghosh has successfully executed his duty in various positions like, Dean of Faculty, HOD, Governing body member, Centre in Charge, NBA Coordinator etc. He acted as examiner in various University examinations of University of Calcutta, WBUT and Jadavpur University. He is Editorial Board Member of five International Journals. Dr. Ghosh has organized a number Seminars and workshops in association with IEEE. He is a member of National Entrepreneurship Network- Mentor Group. He was appointed as Presiding Officer in different election by, Election Commission, Govt. of West Bengal.
Mr. Bappaditya Mondal
He is currently Pursuing a Ph.D in Information Technology from IIEST, Shibpur on Testing and Diagnosis of Reversible and Quantum Circuit. He has an M.E in Information Technology from WBUT, B.E in Information Technology from MCKV Institute of Engineering, Vidyasagar University. He has worked as a part time lecturer at Govt. College of Engineering & Textile Technology, Serampore from 2005 to 2007. He has worked as an Assistant Professor at Bankura Unnayani Institute of Engineering from 2007 to 2010. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Neotia Institute of Technology, Management and Science since March, 2010. He has attended 1 National Conference, 5 International Conferences and has published in one International Journal. His paper on “Online Testing of SMGF in ESOP Based Reversible Circuits” has been awarded the best paper in IEEE Techsym, IIT Kharagpur, India, 2016.
Mr. Biplab Roy
He is an M.E (GATE Scholar) from the Dept of ECE, IIEST, Shibpur. He has written 2 Journals - “Spintronic Device Based Power Efficient VLSI Chip Design for Universal Code Converter” published in “Canadian Journal of Pure & applied sciences” in 2008 and “Area Efficient Reloadable FIR Filter based on NEw Distributed Arithmetic (NEDA)” published in the “International Journal of Engineering Research & Technology (IJERT) in 2016. He has attended various conferences such as “IBM-Core- Connect (PLB bus) Compatible Encryptor soft-core” in INDICON 2010 in Santiniketan, “Platform-Independent UART soft-core” in 2012 which was the third International Conference on Intelligent Systems Modeling and Simulation, Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. “Cyclic Combinational Gate Diffusion Input (CCGDI) Technique- A New Approach of Low Power Digital Combinational Circuit Design”, The 2015 First International Conference on Electrical, Computer and Communication Technologies (ICECCT 2015), SVS college of Engineering, India to name a few. He is associated with PhD programme in the Department of Applied Physics, Calcutta University. He is a member of IEEE. He joined as an associate professor in the department of ECE.
Chef. Chayan Banerjea
Chef Chayan Banerjea is a graduate of IHM Mumbai. He has been in operations at various senior levels including Regional Chef for RKHS, GM Operations for Magna food court and VP Operations for Six Pack Cuisine Pvt Limited. Chef Banerjea has specialized experience in planning and designing food and beverage operations. He has the credit of setting up more than a dozen Food and Beverage establishments in Hyderabad, Nagpur and Perth, Australia, he has taught culinary art for more than twelve years at prestigious institutes in Mumbai and Hyderabad.
Dr. Debajyoti De
Dr. De is a Gold Medallist in B.Sc. Physics-H. He bagged the degree of M.Sc. & M.Sc. Diploma from JU. He pursued his research work from Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) & was awarded with the degree of Ph.D. At present he is continuing his research in synthesis & studies on magnetic & transport properties of nanostructured materials, thin films &graphene based nanocomposites. He has published 10 research papers in reputed International Journals & attended more than 10 National/International conferences in India & abroad with oral and poster presentations. Dr. De was selected for oral presentation in Young Physicist Colloquium, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Organised by Indian Physical Society, India. He was awarded with certificate of merit for being selected as one of the six top presenters in National Science Day Meet at IACS, Kolkata. He is associated with IACS as Honorary Research Worker &is also a lifetime member.
Mr. Deep Suman Dev
Mr. Deep Suman Dev is currently pursuing his PhD (Engineering) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, in Computer Vision Application, Biometrics & Pattern Classification. He has done his M.Tech in Information Technology from IIEST – Shibpur (formerly known as Bengal Engineering & Science University, Shibpur), West Bengal; and B.E. in Information Technology from UIT, Burdwan University, Burdwan, West Bengal. He has attended 1 international conference in 2016 and 3 in 2017and has publications in 3 international journalsin2017, 1accepted and 2 communicated. He is also Faculty Member, Routine Co-coordinator, Internal & Practical Examination Co-coordinator of CSE Department; Faculty Member of Infosys Campus Connect Course, Admission Co-coordinator of Admission Cell and an active member of the Anti-Ragging Committee. HE has 1 year of working experience as OIC (Officer In-Charge of MAKAUT semester examination) in exam cell of NITMAS. He was in-charge (SPOC) of Infosys Campus Connect course conducted by Infosys Technologies at NITMAS for 1 year; and was also associated with Infosys Campus Connect course as a faculty member which is conducted by Infosys Technologies for 09 years at NITMAS. He is an assistant professor in the department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Dr. Dipannita Datta
Dr. Dipannita Datta is an accomplished teacher & a prolific writer. She acquired her master degree in Comparative Literature from the prestigious Jadavpur University & completed her Ph.D from the same department. She has been associated with a number of universities in, different capacities, in India andabroad. She has been appointed as examiner by several universities and, also, worked as translation workshop co-coordinator in the University of Belgrade, Serbia. Dr. Dipannita Datta has designed the syllabus for several courses for the universities in both India and abroad. Other than writing special chapters in more than a dozen books of literature, Dr. Dipannita Datta has authored four books, which resulted from her meticulous research on the writings of Tagore, Ashapurna Devi and George Elliot etc. Her scholarly writings & eases have been published in a number of journals and seminar proceedings. She has also been invited by several colleges & universities to give the keynote address, seminar, presentation, lecture and workshop.
Ms. Koel Mitra
Koel Mitra, a brilliant linguist, has an enviable academic record during her university education. She ranked First Class with a Gold Medal in Graduation (Honours) and Master’s Degree level from the department of Comparative Literature of Jadavpur University. She also has a PG Diploma in Digital Humanities & Cultural Informatics and another one in Appreciation of Indian Art. She also completed a course on Film Studies from Jadavpur University. Ms. Mitra cleared the UGC NET-JRF while pursuing her Ph.D in Digital Humanities from the department of Comparative Literature at Jadavpur University. She has already completed her Ph.D course work with a brilliant SGPA of 10/10. Other than working as a Junior Research Fellow at the department of Comparative Literature of Jadavpur University & Asst. Professor in English in Amity School of Liberal Arts in Manesar Haryana, she has worked as a technical writer for Cognizant Technology Solutions. Ms. Koel Mitra is a known Figure in the field of art and literature. She has functioned as an art critic for an art gallery as well as an e magazine on contemporary visual arts. She has dabbled in content writing for several content writing bureau and also edited & published an alternative literary magazine. Ms. Mitra has written five publications so far and has presented several papers relevant to her field.

He was selected as the Member of Board of Study of Department of Commerce, JD Birla Institute, Kolkata for Post Graduate and Under Graduate level. He has successfully coordinated “T3 Training on Introduction to Open Source and Open Standards” delivered by IBM professionals from 3rd – 5th Aug 2017 and Developed a small software for playing online quiz contest, organized by TNU and NITMAS. He was a Member of Committee for Symposium “Establishing Continuity between School and Higher Education”, organized on 29th of July 2017at TNU Campus. Being an Assistant Professor in CSE in Cyber Security, he takes classes of Graph Theory, Software Development Fundamental (basically C++) and Mathematics. He also takes classes in Computer Programming and Problem Solving, OOP and Data structure.
Dr. Prosun Tribedi
He holds a PhD in Microbiology. His achievements include Qualifying CSIR-NET (JRF) in Life Sciences, December, 2008; GATE in 2008 (96.7%); AND Research Eligibility Test (RET), 2010. He received Young scientist research grant from SERB, DST, Govt. of India in 2015 (Total cost 23, 20,000.00 rupees) FOR “Strategy development for the applications of bio-fertilizers into the soil to increase the soil fertility”: An efficient way to substitute the hazardous chemical fertilizer application. He has 25 Publications in international research journals; and 3 in a highly reputed international magazine. He has collaborations with Dr. Debasish Maiti (Department of Human Physiology, Tripura University, A Central University); with Dr. Surajit Bhattacharjee (Department of Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics, Tripura University, A Central University); with Dr. Sunandan Baruah (Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University); and with Dr. Abhrajyoti Ghosh (Department of Biochemistry, Bose Institute). Here at TNU, he not only teaches the students, he is a mentor to them. He is also simultaneously pursuing his research and working on his skill development.
Dr. Pulok Pattanayak
Dr. Pulok Pattanayak possesses a brilliant academic record in the field of Physics, Materials Science & Applied Physics. After completing his M.Tech from IIT Kharagpur, Dr. Pattanayak was awarded his Ph.D by the prestige IISC Bangalore.
He started his carrier as a project Assistant in IISC Bangalore and completed a long stint as a post-doctoral researcher at the Boise State University, USA. He has completed two post-doctoral in significant areas in his field.
Dr. Pattanayak has nine publications to this name, while two manuscripts are under preparation. He has attended a number of international and national conferences as well.
Mr. Ratan Kumar Bhattacharaya
Mr. Bhattacharya has done his M. Tech from National Institute of Technology, Durgapur in Design and Production, where he graduated with a 1st class in BE(Mechanical) from National Institute of Technology (formerly Regional Engineering College), Durgapur. He also has a 1st class with distinction in Advance Diploma in Management- from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. He has participated in an International conference on Emerging Material: Characteristics and Application in December 2014 at CGCRI Kolkata and another one in Free Vibration Characteristics of NIMONIC 80A Gas Turbine Blade.
He has also participated in another International conference in Adv. in M.E. & its Interdisciplinary areas Jan. 2015, CEME, Kolaghat, India on the topic ” Free vibration characteristics of SS-Al2o3 functionally graded conical shell with rotational effect.” He is currently doing a project on Solar Refrigeration.
Capt. Utpal Sengupta
Capt. Sengupta is qualified as Master Mariner (FG) under Government of India. An alumnus of TS Rajendra, started his career with Messrs Scindia Steam Navigation Co. Ltd in 1975. He worked with the Shipping Industry for 36 years on various types of ships and has an experience as Captain for 16+ years. He also worked as Training Superintendent of Pacific Basin Hong Kong and was responsible to provide 'on the job training' to the newly inducted Officers. He was also a Faculty member and Dean at Trident College of Maritime Training, Pailan from 2011-13 and joined as Faculty member of NITMAS in 2014. Presently he is working as HOD (Nautical Science) in School of Maritime Studies of TNU.
