Applied psychology is the use of psychological methods and findings of scientific psychology to solve practical problems of human and animal behavior and experience. Some of the areas of applied psychology include clinical psychology,industrial and organizational psychology, cognitive psychology, counselling psychology, developmental psychology, neuropsychology, occupational and health psychology,forensic psychology, engineering psychology, school psychology, sports psychology.

TNU curriculum is holistic and provides opportunities to go out into the world as a work life coach, a harbinger of wellness and good health, as a mentor for a sportsperson or an interventionist and will be able to serve in hospitals, NGO’s Corporate Houses, Schools etc. Thus the course is highly job-oriented. Further, the comprehensive Masters programme will provide the student not just a M.A/M.Sc. degree, that is recognised all over the country, but also equip them to carry out research  of a wide areas of psychology. The course attempts to encourage action oriented thinking.

In each course the students will be doing a field project the programme will include summer trainings and internship in hospitals, NGOs, corporate houses and schools. These practical training stints will make the students ready to work after their post-graduation in industries, hospitals or communities.
