TNU’s B.A(Hons.) and M.A English programmes are designed to provide students a strong background of the language domain and develop skills which are widely applicable to various fields. The focus of the programme is on literary analysis and critical thinking. Through a rigorous and combined curriculum of literature, language and linguistics, the programme aims to fulfil the literary aspirations of the students. This programme also facilitates extra-literary skills like editing, translation, film appreciation, journalism as well as written and oral communication competence - all of which are highly prized by employers in almost every profession. In today’s shifting and evolving career landscapes, where the need of these skills cannot be overemphasized, the English programme at The Neotia University encourages the conventional literary education and attempts to provide a strong foundation for understanding different cultures through the transaction of literary language.
