Dr. Mitra is an academician whose passion lies in undergraduate as well as post graduate teaching. His research programme focuses on Organizational and Environmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Statistical applications in Psychological Research, Research Methodology. He completed his B. Sc; M. Sc in Applied Psychology (with the specialization of Organizational and Environmental Psychology) from University of Calcutta, West Bengal and completed MBA with the specialization of Marketing. He started his research career as doctoral fellow from the Department of Applied Psychology, University of Calcutta from where he was awarded PhD degree. His PhD research topic focused on Advertising appeals of different product category and its psychological impacts among consumers.
Dr. Mitra conducted his post-doctoral research from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) with research fellowship. His postdoctoral research primarily focused on understanding of Work-family conflict and Family-Work Conflict and psychological hazards faced by Indian CEOs. He has so far nine peer reviewed international publications. He currently co-guides two Ph d students of different Universities. He is one of the volunteer reviewer Symposium and Conference papers of Academy of Management Conference, USA.
He also attended several international conferences to present his work. He has contributed as a facilitator for different Management Development Programs at IIMC during his Post doctoral Research tenure. Besides, he is attached with different counselling training programs, counselling activities and taking weekend classes for different programs for different Universities. He is currently actively engaged in teaching and mentoring students of graduate and post graduate students at The Neotia University. He participates different kinds of Mental Health awareness program in different audio-visual as well as visual medium and delivers lectures at different platforms for different segments of society. He is one of the editors of Bengali psychological magazine ‘Moner katha’. His current research interest lies in spiritual intelligence, emotional intelligence, personality, effect of different organizational culture and psychological disorders and different management issues.
