Every year the National Entrepreneurship Network celebrates the Entrepreneurship week in the second week of February, encouraging institutes and their e-cells to have a wide array of events to encourage innovation and development. This year too, the e-week was celebrated from February 10-16, 2018, and the Theme was “ Look into the dustbin, there are prizes you can win”.
The University and the Institute have an excellent track record in the game of Table Tennis, winning at least 20 championships since 2012. The trend was started with Arijit De ( WHO represented India and Bengal) and Sourav Karmakar ( who represented Bengal, too) and the mantle has now been donned by Subham Kundu( yet another state level player) who has won innumerable accolades. Subham was selected to represent MAKAUT ( formerly WBUT) in the All India Universities Championships in Bhubaneswar in January 2018, and has recently emerged Champions in the Kolkata Police Cup.
It is a great pleasure to inform you that student projects from Robotics Engineering Department, TNU has been selected for second round of qualifiers – Phase II (shortlisted 510 teams ) of DST-Texas Instruments India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2017 (IICDC 2017) organized by DST, Govt. Of India, TI and IIM, Bangalore, for the Quarter finals. Our University has received tools (worth approximately $200) from TI to develop the prototype.
TNU have recently signed MoU with MakersLoft, a company who has organized the Tinker Fest in association with BITM, on their campus. In this festival, students from city schools and beyond showcased variety of working models of various categories from Robotics to Traditional Handicrafts, 3-D printing and Science Experiments. Students teachers and parents were highly enthusiastic during this event.
