The Neotia University Celebrates its Second Foundation Day.

 

The Neotia University (TNU), one of the youngest self-financed universities of West Bengal, celebrated its second foundation day anniversary on 3rd February, Friday,2017.

The occasion was graced by Professor. A.S. Kolaskar, Vice Chancellor, Mr. Amitava Banerjee, Director School of Maritime Studies(SOMS), Dr. Rajeev Verma ,Registrar, TNU, Mr. R. K. Verma, Registrar NITMAS, Mr. Suhaas Mukherjee, Head HR and Mr. Sudhir Mukherjee, Training and Placement Head, NITMAS. All faculties, staff members and students were also present on this auspicious occasion.

Mr. Amitava Banerjee, Director – SOMS in his talk highlighted the recent developments and achievements of the School of Maritime Studies.  He emphasized the fact that students should maintain high discipline because discipline is very important for all students.

Prof. A S Kolaskar stated the journey of the university’s growth in the recent years. He emphasized that for growth and development, India has to create intellectual properties and institutes like TNU has to play a crucial role in it. He further stated that the university has signed MOU with different organisations and Universities in India as well as in abroad.

On this momentous day our Vice Chancellor announced two distinguished student awards. This award is conferred in recognition of outstanding contribution in their chosen field. The recipients are:

1) Mr. Sampreet Sarkar- All Round Performance

2) Mr. Subham Santra- Best Academic Performance

He also announced “Faculty of the year” award which was given to Dr. Debajyoti De, for his outstanding contribution in academics and social activities.

A cultural programme consisting of dance, songs and drama were organised by the students and staff members.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Rajeev Verma, Registrar, The Neotia University.
