3 12th standard pass in any stream with minimum of 50% marks.

The Neotia University (TNU) is a renowned pedestal for education in eastern India. The Ambuja Neotia group being already a hospitality major with its hotels, resorts and restaurants, it is but natural that the expertise gained over the years is well utilized in hospitality education and training. The School of Hospitality and Culinary Art (SHCA) is located inside the sprawling TNU campus. SHCA offers courses in B.Sc in Hospitality Administration with/without Swiss Diploma and B.Sc in Culinary Arts. In keeping with the established high standards of the group, the facilities at SHCA can be compared to the best in the world. The food production laboratory, the training restaurants, the classrooms, and the central library – all are commissioned with state-of-the-art equipment and provide maximum comfort to both learner and trainer. The team of faculty can be rated as one of the best in the country with each one having quality experience in both industry and teaching. Another useful advantage a student may gain is the oncampus residential facility. Twin sharing accommodation with four nutritious meals in a day, coupled with the serene university environment, provides a student with a unique experience of comprehensive learning.

Mr. Rupam Ghosh, Associate Professor & Deputy Director

Mr. Ghosh is an academician with over 25 years of professional experience in handling various facets of Administration, Academics, and Training & Development. He is an alumnus of IHM -Kolkata and holds an MBA degree in Human Resource. His greatest strengths include collaborative leadership, strategic planning, empowering educators to develop their leadership and instructional skills.

Mr. Atin Das, Faculty

Mr. Das has an overall 25 years of experience in academics and industry. He did his M.Sc. in Hotel Management. He has experience working with many pioneer brands in the hospitality sector. A well-known face of Bangla television, associated with several cookery shows.

Mr. Subrata Routh, Faculty

Mr. Routh has 20 years of global experience in academics and industry. He did his MBA in Hotel Management. He has experience working with many international hotels such as Hotel Intercontinental, Ritz Carlton, Bahrain, and more. 

Ms. Upasana, Faculty

Ms. Upasana has an overall 3 years of experience in academics and industry. She did her M.Sc in Hospitality Administration. She has been recognized as the Best Employee during her stint with Lemon Tree Premier hotel in Patna. Along with the academics she is taking care of training and placements for SHCA students.

Dr. Abhishek Ghosh, Assistant Professor

Dr. Ghosh has 6 years of research experience in the adoption & diffusion of innovation and nutrition-sensitive agriculture. He did his Ph.D. in Agricultural Extension and has 4 International Publications. He has attended a National and an International Conference.

Dr. Santanu Ray Chaudhuri, Assistant Professor

Dr. Chaudhuri has 19 years of teaching experience. He has done his PhD in Economics where he specialized in Economic Inequality and Human Capital & Growth. He has 12 years of research experience in Economic Growth, Human Capital & Inequality, Labour Economics and Environmental Economics as well as 2 years of industry experience. He has had various awards and accolades bestowed upon him like a State Funded Scholarship, selected as a team member in the Capacity Building Project organized by Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, Resource Person on ‘Macroeconomics and Public Policy’ at South State Gujarat University, Surat and Resource Person on ‘Illicit Fund Transfer’, Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune. He has 7 National and 6 International Publications. He has attended 2 National Conferences.

Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad, Assistant Professor

Dr. Ahmad has 4 years of teaching experience. He holds a Doctorate in Commerce and his research area was Marketing. He has 12 National and International Publication. He has attended 3 National and 5 International Conferences organized by various groups. 

Dr. Anindita Dutta, Assistant Professor

Dr. Dutta has more than 21 years of experience in teaching and research work. Her Ph.D. in ELT (English Language Teaching) primarily focuses on ICT (Information & Communication Technology) in Tertiary Education. Prof. Dutta had been a member of the editorial board for the International Journal of Humanities Social Sciences and Education. She has 4 academic textbooks and 9 Research Publications to her credit.

Ms. Aliya Halim, Teaching Associate

Ms. Halim has been teaching for more than 6 years now. She has a collective research experience of more than 5 years in “Linguistics / Translation Studies”. She did her M.A. with a specialization in English and Linguistics. Earlier, she had done her B.Ed. in English as well. She was awarded the UGC Maulana Azad National Fellowship in 2012. To date, she has six National Publications in her name. She has attended 3 International and 2 National Conferences organized by various groups.   

Mr. Sumit Das, Teaching Associate

Mr. Sumit has been teaching for a year and has an overall industry experience of 6 years. He has done his M.Sc. in Hospitality and Human Resource.   

Mr. Vivek Anand, Teaching Assistant (Lab Technician)

Mr. Anand has 2 years of teaching and 4 years of industry experience. He is currently pursuing a Masters’s degree in Hotel Management.

Ms. Shabnam Jana, Faculty (Part-Time)

Ms. Jana has 18 years of teaching and 10 years of industry experience. She did her Masters's in Tourism Management.

Mr. Biswarup Chatterjee, Faculty (Part-Time)

Mr. Chatterjee has 20 years of teaching and 5 years of industry experience. He did his MBA in Finance.

  • Plabon Bose, completed his industrial training program at Swissotel, Kolkata.
  • Tanmay Kayal completed his industrial training program and achieved the 'Best Trainee Service Award' in Food & Beverage at The Lalit Great Eastern, Kolkata.
