M.Sc. Applied Mathematics and Computing programme is specifically designed with an outright emphasis on mathematics, numerical methods and scientific computation covering theoretical, computational and practical aspects. The course includes problems and its applications in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science to cope up the needs of latest academic and industrial trends. Whereas the core mathematics courses are aimed at building a strong foundation in the subject, the laboratory based subjects give the exposure and training in application-oriented practical subjects specially on computing. The goal is to find practical solutions to real-world problems arising from various situations. The course is career orienting in nature that opens many opportunities for demanding jobs after passing it.At the end of the programme, students acquire sound analytical and practical knowledge to formulate and solve challenging problems and are well prepared to take up jobs in software industries, research and development organizations or to pursue higher studies in mathematical and computing sciences.

Dr. Mostaid Ahmed, Assistant Professor

Dr. Ahmed has 2 years of teaching experience. He did his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and his research areas were Solid Mechanics, Theory of Elastic Waves, Geodynamics, and Mathematical Modeling. He has had 11 International Publications to his name and has attended 3 International Conferences as well.

Dr. Ayan Chatterjee, Assistant Professor

Dr. Chatterjee has 2 years of teaching experience. He did his Ph.D. in Mathematics and he has overall 5 years of research experience in the areas of Mathematical Modelling of Contaminant Flow in Groundwater, Mathematical Modelling of Surface Water flow, Geo-Mathematical Modelling, and Transport in Porous Media. He has published 8 Research Articles in International Journals (5 SCI and 3 Scopus) and presented 2 articles at International Conference.
