Candidates should have a Master’s degree or a degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body of this University, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).

Candidates should qualify a written MCQ Examination and will be called for an interview/ counselling. The final selection will be made on the basis of the overall performance of the candidates.

Candidates who have already cleared the NET (UGC/CSIR)/GATE/ SET or equivalent examinations need to appear only at the interview, skipping the written test.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Applications shall be invited through announcements by the university. The interested applicant/s may submit the application for admission in Ph.D program in Basic Science to the Registrar Office of the university. R&D committee of the university shall get in touch with the Controller of Examination Section to conduct the admission entrance test (written mode). In the entrance test, the

50% questions shall be set from the research methodology and the other 50% questions shall be set from relevant subjects. The qualified candidates shall be called for the personal interview, the candidate may be considered for enrolment in the Ph.D program in Basic Science of the university.

ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Scholar’s research progress shall be evaluated at the end of every six months by the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) constituted for individual scholar. RAC shall be made by considering five faculty members in which one expert must be from outside of TNU. The RAC shall suggest ways to improve the quality of research work of the scholar. The report of RAC shall be

submitted to the R&D committee. The R&D committee shall keep the records and further shall forward the same to Controller of Examination (CoE). The RAC shall be following the Ph.D guideline of The Neotia University while functioning.
