Achievement of Robotics Engineering Department, TNU in DST & TI India Innovation challenge 2017

It is a great pleasure to inform you that student projects from Robotics Engineering Department, TNU has been selected for second round of qualifiers – Phase II (shortlisted 510 teams ) of DST-Texas Instruments India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2017 (IICDC 2017) organized by DST, Govt. Of India, TI and IIM, Bangalore, for the Quarter finals. Our University has received tools (worth approximately $200) from TI to develop the prototype.

India Innovation Challenge Design Contest (IICDC), is an initiative that provides a platform to launch student-led tech startups, by recognizing and mentoring entrepreneurial ideas and transforming them into successful ventures(https://blog.mygov.in/ ), (https://blog.mygov.in/iicdc-2017-student-innovators-engineer-the-next-generation-of-startups/ ). TI- IICDC has partnered with institutions like IIM-Bangalore, DST (Department of Science and Technology), DIPP and MyGov to support innovative tech-based ideas, conceptualized by students, aimed at solving complex challenges (https://innovate.mygov.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/mygov18_1508131171.pdf ).

Our project selected under top 1106 project ideas from 965 engineering colleges across the nation and participation from 15,380 students. Our University will get instruments from Texas Instruments for developing prototype of that project. At the end of this competition top finalists will qualify for INR 3.5 crore funding from the DST.
