TNU Signed MoU with Edinburgh Napier University, (United Kingdom)

A high power delegation from Edinburgh Napier University (ENU) visited TNU campus on 22nd May, 2018 from 10:30 A.M. onwards. Members of the delegation were Prof. (Ms.) Pauline Miller Judd, Dean, Arts and Creative Industries; Prof. (Ms.) Bashabi Fraser, Professor of English and Creative Writing, Director, Scottish Centre of Tagore Studies (ScoTs); and Dr. Neil Fraser, University of Edinburgh.
These members visited various departments and facilities available on the campus and have interacted with selected senior faculty members of the University. During these discussions, several collaborative projects were considered. One of the project that will soon become operational is design of solar powered low cost highly durable rickshaws. These rickshaws will be then given to ten-fifteen rickshaw pullers and the impact of solar rickshaws on the life of the rickshaw puller and his family as well as his surroundings will be studied. This multidisciplinary project was identified because cycle rickshaw pullers in Edinburgh have to operate rickshaws on the terrain which has steep ups and downs and are suffering from health issues.
An MoU between ENU and TNU were signed. The signatories of this MoU were Vice Chancellor of TNU Prof. A. S. Kolaskar with Registrar and Ms. Pauline Miller Judd, Dean of ENU along with Prof. Bashabi Fraser, Professor of English and Creative Writing, Director, Scottish Centre of Tagore Studies (ScoTs), ENU.
Visiting team was appreciative of the fact that TNU is providing holistic education in modern subjects using highly flexible choice based credit system.
