Dr. Abhijit Samanta

Dr. Abhijit Samanta is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at The Neotia University, West Bengal, India. He began his research career as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. He was awarded his Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry through collaborative research between the Departments of Applied Chemistry and Petroleum Engineering at the same institute. Further advancing his research career, Dr. Samanta worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University, USA.

Dr. Samanta has over 14 years of teaching experience and 18 years of research experience. He has published more than 30 research papers in reputed peer-reviewed international journals and has contributed to books, book chapters, and national and international conference proceedings. His research areas include Rheology, Surfactant Chemistry, Fluid Flow through Porous Media, and Enhanced Oil Recovery. He also actively contributes to academia as a reviewer for several reputed international journals.

In addition to his academic and research contributions, Dr. Samanta has held significant administrative responsibilities. He has served as Coordinator and currently serves as Co-coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and has also held the position of Assistant Registrar at the university. He is presently the University Nodal Officer (UNO) for AISHE and Coordinator for UGC-NEP SAARTHI, overseeing institutional data management and coordinating activities related to the University Grants Commission. Furthermore, he serves as the Programme Coordinator of the NSS Cell under the guidance of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. He is also an active member of the Academic Council and the Faculty Council of the School of Integrated Sciences at the university.
