4.5 12th standard pass with Physics, Chemistry, Biology with at least 55% marks.

Physiotherapists assist doctors in rehabilitating patients from a state of instability due to genetic defect, accident or illness. Physiotherapists have proper knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, psychology, medical and surgical conditions, biomechanics, disability prevention and rehabilitation.

Dr. Haimanti Goswami, Assistant Professor

Dr. Goswami has been teaching for eleven years now. She has research experience of six years in “Thyroid and Male Reproductive Physiology”. She did her Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Physiology. She has 3 National and 2 International Publications to her name. Also, she has attended 7 National
and an International Conference organized by various groups.

Dr. Rajashree Kar, Teaching Associate

Dr. Kar has 2 years of teaching and a year of industry experience. She did her Post-Graduation in Physiotherapy with a specialization in Orthopedics. She has attended 6 National Conferences organized by various groups.

Dr. Srijani Banerjee, Faculty (Visiting)

Dr. Banerjee has 3 years of teaching and an overall 5 years of industry experience. She did her Post-Graduation (MPT) with a specialization in Cardiothoracic Disorders and ICU Management. She is also a member of the Indian Association of Physiotherapy. Her interest areas are Geriatric Care, Dementia, and Mental Health.

Dr. Sheeba Khalid, Assistant Professor

Dr. Khalid has been teaching for more than nine and a half years now. She did her Ph.D. in Sociology with Social Gerontology as her research area. She has been conferred with various rewards and recognition such as the Education Excellence Award in 2016 from the Indian Solidarity Council, the Moulana Azad National Fellowship for Minorities (MANF-UGC) for MPhil, and Ph.D. and Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) Award for Doctorate Degree in 2009.

Dr. Mostaid Ahmed, Assistant Professor

Dr. Ahmed has 2 years of teaching experience. He did his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and his research areas were Solid Mechanics, Theory of Elastic Waves, Geodynamics, and Mathematical Modeling. He has had 11 International Publications to his name and has attended 3 International Conferences as well.

Dr. Manashi Chakraborty, Assistant Professor

Dr. Chakraborty has 13 years of teaching experience and has an overall research experience of 11 years. Currently, she has been working on projects involving Dependence of Exchange Bias on Interparticle Interaction and Improving multiferroicity with RGO/GO/Graphene-based Nanocomposites.  She did her Ph.D. in Chemistry and her areas of research have been Synthetic Inorganic Chemistry, Coordination Chemistry, and Nanomaterials Synthesis, Characterization, and Magnetic Properties Study. She has a National and 5 International Publications in her name.

Dr. Sudeshna Roy, Assistant Professor

Dr. Roy has 8 years of teaching experience and an overall 5 years of research experience. She did her Ph.D. in Applied Psychology and her research area was the Correlates of Dysfunctional Belief related to OCD. She has had 2 National Publications. She has attended 2 National along with 2 International Conferences well.

Dr. Poulomi Chakraborty, Assistant Professor

Dr. Chakraborty has been teaching for more than a year now and has an overall research experience of three years in “Exploration of Natural and Synthetic Molecule for the Inhibition of Microbial Biofilm”. She did her Ph.D. in Biotechnology and has ten international publications to her name, to date. Apart from this, she has attended five national and three international seminars organized by various groups.

Dr. Atreya Banerjee, Assistant Professor

Dr. Banerjee has 5 years of teaching experience. She did her PhD in Comparative Literature and her research areas include Ecocriticism, Cultural Studies, Theories of Comparative Literature and Postcolonialism. She has had a National and 3 International Publications. Also, she has attended 2 National and  4 International Conferences.

Dr. Debobani Biswas, Assistant Professor

Dr. Biswas has been teaching for twenty years and has a collective research experience of eight years. She did her Ph.D. in English Literature and her research area was “African American Drama”. To date, she has had two international and 1 National Publication to her name. Apart from this, she has attended 5 International Conferences.

Mr. Swarnava Biswas, Teaching Associate

Mr. Biswas has an industry and research experience of few years in Biomedical Image Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Terahertz Imaging and Cancer Imaging. He is presently working as a Research Scientist in an Industry Sponsored Project 'An Artificial Intelligence Enabled Multi- Hypothesis based Diagnostic Approach Towards COVID- 19 Detection'. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Medical Physics and Electronics and has completed his M.Sc. earlier. He has won several awards such as the INSPIRE scholarship from DST, Government of India. He has national and 2 international publications to his name.

Mr. Atin Das, Faculty

Mr. Das has an overall 25 years of experience in academics and industry. He did his M.Sc. in Hotel Management. He has experience working with many pioneer brands in the hospitality sector. A well-known face of Bangla television, associated with several cookery shows.

Mr. Partha Niyogi, Teaching Associate

Mr. Niyogi has 8 years of teaching and research experience. His research experience is in the field of Formulation and Development of Novel Drug Delivery Systems, Release Kinetics by HPLC and another method, Bioavailability of drug, In Vivo-In vitro study and correlation, In-silico molecular docking of drug with receptor and polymer, drug interactions, and Animal model study with different statistical approach. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. and holds an M.Pharm degree in Pharmaceutics. He has had National and 7 International Publications. He has attended 4 National and 3 International Conference.

Dr. Pradip Kumar Porai, Faculty (Part-Time)

Dr. Porai has 14 years of teaching and an industry experience of 16 years. He has done his Ph.D. and M.D. in Homeopathy.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Progress in medical science has made B.Sc. in Physiotherapy a highly prospective course. All Hospitals and Wellness Institutions employ physiotherapists to restore physical function of patients. Graduates after completion of their degree can work as a physiotherapist, osteopath, lecturer, researcher and consultant. Graduates can also opt for private practice after obtaining the necessary affiliation with respective medical council or pursue higher studies like Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) in the respective field.

Students will have immense scope in Generic Physiotherapy, Sports Physiotherapy, Occupational Physiotherapy, Oncology Physiotherapy, Robotics in Physiotherapy, Cardio Pulmonary Physiotherapy, etc.
