The Neotia University was founded under the West Bengal State Government Act XXIII of 2014. It received approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC) in accordance with Section 2(f) of the UGC Act of 1956. The inaugural batch commenced in 2015.

• The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has accredited the B.Pharm courses.

• The B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture has been accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), making it the first and only private university in West Bengal to achieve this status.
• The B.Sc. Nursing and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) courses are approved by both the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and the West Bengal Nursing Council (WBNC).
• The Skill Development courses have accreditation with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and various Skill Councils.

The AmbujaNeotia Group started its journey in education with Neotia Institute of Technology, Management & Science (NITMAS), previously known as Institute of Tecvhnology & Marine Engineering (ITME), a college established in 2002. Also we have a Management & a Nursing College in Kolkata.

The courses provided by The Neotia University (TNU) are in high demand in the job market, reflecting a significant shortage of skilled and qualified professionals across various sectors. TNU has established academic collaborations with industries for nearly all of its programs. In terms of teaching methodology, TNU focuses on the comprehensive development of its students by delivering education that is both modern and experiential, facilitated through partnerships with industries and other educational institutions. Additionally, TNU is actively working on the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The University was founded in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, featuring a sprawling campus of over 50 acres, equipped with all necessary amenities to create a serene and contemporary study environment. TNU offers dedicated hostel accommodations for both male (over 1,100) and female students (over 550) on campus, ensuring 24-hour security, as well as access to a canteen, medical services, and other essential facilities. Additionally, students have the option to enroll as day scholars, with air-conditioned buses operating from various locations throughout Kolkata.

Neotia University is an initiative under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework of the AmbujaNeotia Group. The Group aims to enhance societal development by offering quality and affordable education to students from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. In alignment with this vision, Neotia University provides over 72 professional and career-oriented programs at a competitive fee structure(that starts from Rs.15k per sem) . Additionally, the University offers scholarships ranging from 25% to 100% of tuition fees for the deserving students on merit cum means basis.

Our hostel accommodations are fully equipped to meet the study needs of students. TNU offers nutritious meals four times daily. Additionally, students have access to Wi-Fi within the hostel, along with round-the-clock security and medical services. Furthermore, we can facilitate off-campus housing options for students at a more affordable rate, ranging from 3,000 to 4,000 per month.

Each student enrolled in a course at TNU is mandatorily to participate in an internship. TNU organizes internships annually throughout the duration of the academic program. These internships may be either paid or unpaid, depending on the specific course and the company involved. Currently, over 160 companies offer internship positions to TNU students, and this number continues to grow each year.

TNU has established partnerships with over 135 companies for internships and placements across nearly all sectors. For example, Every student at the University is provided with opportunities for both internships and placements. Over 132 companies have employed nearly all students from The Neotia University who were eligible or interested in placement across various streams. The average salary offered was approximately Rs. 3.2 LPA, with the highest salary reaching Rs. 24 LPA. Students were placed in companies like QSpider, TCSDigtal, Database Technology, Thinkgain Lab, Indian Statistical Institute, Geomatrix Automation and Robotics Pvt. Our campus features a state-of-the-art language laboratory designed to enhance students’ communication skills, including their gestures, posture, and body language. This facility will not only prepare them for successful campus interviews but also contribute to their overall career advancement. The Neotia University has 10 Professors who teached English lenguage and credit point is also awarded for learning of English language.

A spacious library covering an area of 8,000 square feet, accommodating up to 200 students, and housing a collection of 85,000 books across 8,052 titles, along with 71 national and international journals.

In addition to the standard theoretical and practical coursework, students studying Marine Engineering and Nautical Science receive hands-on training aboard a fully operational “Ship on Campus.” Nautical Science students also engage in simulator training to familiarize themselves with challenging maritime conditions. Furthermore, students are required to participate in various essential training programs, which include physical fitness, gym workouts, self-defense, swimming, and sports activities. Unlike other engineering fields, these training elements are integrated into their academic curriculum. As a result, all students must reside in hostels, as their training sessions begin early in the morning and extend into the evening. They benefit from dedicated hostel facilities that promote their physical and mental well-being. Additionally, their tuition fees include ‘on-ship training,’ which is crucial for obtaining employment post-graduation. Therefore, the fees for the MRE/BNS program encompass all these facilities and services.

The recruitment of highly qualified faculty members is an ongoing endeavor. We have Ph.D. holders teaching nearly all courses. Our faculty possess extensive professional experience in their respective fields, coupled with exceptional teaching backgrounds. As a result, our students receive expert guidance in both theoretical and practical aspects of their studies. Presently TNU have more than 242 Faculty memebrs for 4300 students presently studying. Among these faculty memebrs more than 85-90% faculty mmebers are PhD holders. Apart from these faculty memebrs there are more than 70 Research Scholars are there at TNU those also helps and guides our students in Academic matters, wherever is required.

Students who demonstrate exceptional academic abilities but face financial challenges may qualify for scholarships covering 25% to 100% of tuition fees for all undergraduate and lateral entry semesters. TNU has established partnerships with specific banks to provide financial assistance in the form of loans. If students fulfill the necessary documentation requirements set by the bank, they will be eligible for education loans to support their studies. Additionally, over 900 of our students have successfully obtained the West Bengal Government Student Credit Card loan to pursue higher education.

The eligibility requirements differ from one course to another. For programs such as Engineering, Pharmacy, and Maritime Studies, a minimum of 60% marks is necessary. In contrast, certain courses at TNU allow for admission with a minimum of 55% or even 50% marks.

Neotia University is the first and only private institution in West Bengal to receive ICAR Accreditation for its B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture program. This accreditation confirms that the university’s infrastructure, laboratories, and faculty are of exceptional quality and fully adequate.

TNU has established an Anti-Ragging Cell that includes representatives from both the university and the student body. Each student and their guardian are required to sign an Anti-Ragging agreement upon admission. We enforce stringent regulations as required by, regarding this matter. As a result, our campus is entirely free from ragging.
