NOTE:

Staying at TNU Hostel is optional, except for all Maritime Studies courses, as per DG Shipping, Govt. of India rules. Additional fees apply (Rs. 45,000/- per semester + Rs. 23,000/- one-time fee) (Rs. 15,000/- refundable).
Uniform is mandatory for MRE (Marine Engineering), BNS (Nautical Science), and all courses under the School of Hospitality & Culinary Art and Management, or any other department as per University regulations and requirements. Additional charges apply (actual cost).
Students are entitled to free study materials/books every semester.
Separate hostels for boys and girls are available on a first-come, first-serve basis with additional charges (Rs. 45,000/- per semester + Rs. 23,000/- one-time fee) (Rs. 15,000/- refundable).
AC Bus transportation is available from various parts of Kolkata and nearby locations on a first-come, first-serve basis with extra charges (Rs. 22,000/- per semester – up & down).

25% to 100% scholarship on tuition fees is available for qualified candidates as per the TNU Scholarship criteria, except for Vocational Studies and Post Graduate Courses in 2025–26.
Eligibility percentage for UG programs will be calculated based on the best of five (05) subjects in the Class XII board examination. Only valid and recognized boards/universities are accepted.
For Post Graduate courses, the overall percentage in graduation will be considered.
For Lateral Entry courses, the overall percentage in the diploma will be considered.
Earlier 3-year UG courses will now follow a 3+1 year structure. The final 1 year (i.e., 7th & 8th semesters) will include either On-the-Job Training (OJT) or Research Work:
- Students opting for OJT will pay Rs. 10,000/- per semester (7th & 8th).
- Students eligible and opting for Research Work will pay the full semester fee for the 7th & 8th semesters.

Ph.D Programs Offered by School of Studies–Science & Technology; Agriculture and Allied Sciences; Pharmacy; Life Sciences and Biotechnology;

Humanities, Management and Social Sciences (A Master’s degree in Arts, Science, Engineering, Pharmacy, Psychology, Biotechnology or Business, Management and Agriculture, etc. with ≥ 55% marks or minimum ‘B’ grade for unreserved category of students and ≥ 50% marks or equivalent grade for reserved category students). NEP NOTE:

The students who will take admission in B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechnology / Microbiology / Psychology, they will have to spend 4 years and need to secure a minimum of 160 credits. In that case, they must pay Rs. 13000/- in 7^th and 8^th Semesters.

However, the students who would like to get B.Sc. (Hons. with Research) in Biotechnology / Microbiology / Psychology, they will have to spend 4 years (with 160 credits) and which covers a 12 credits research course in the last year of their curriculum at the Department. In that case, they must pay Rs. 28000/- extra in addition to Rs.13,000/- in 7^th and 8^th semesters.
