As per the guidelines of UGC, The School of Legal Studies, The Neotia University, organized
the Constitution Day on the 25th and 26th of November 2023, to provide an awareness programme on
constitutional rights and duties to its students. The programme witnessed significant
participation of the students.

Sharing glimpses of a Panel Discussion under Prof. (Dr.) Kole’s Chairmanship on “Genome Editing in Horticultural Crops” held on November 07, 2023, during the 10th Indian Horticulture Congress-2023 at the College of Veterinary Science Campus, Assam Agricultural University, Guwahati. We are feeling proud to share about the Lifetime Achievement Award conferred on Prof. Kole by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the Berhampur University during the National Conference on Biological Sciences in Post-Genomic Era held on 03 & 04 Nov, 2023.
We are specifically happy to note that Prof. Kole has been recognized as The Father of Agri-Nanotechnology in the world and the Father of Plant and Agricultural Genomics in India among other ‘statements of praise’.

September 2023 by holding a seminar on “ MARPOL AT 50 “ and a poster competition on Marine
The seminar was inaugurated through a lighting lamp by the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Chief Guest Capt.
D. Basu and Special guest Capt. Nilesh Jethwa.
In his opening speech, respected Vice Chancellor explained how the emission from fossil fuels
changing the environment for which there is an urgent need to look for an alternative fuel and
hence, in the Shipping sector, lots of research going on over alternative fuels like hydrogen/bio-
fuel to curb the emission.
Director, School of Maritime Studies encouraged the students to be disciplined, committed,
mentally strong and to join the Merchant Navy with an inherent pride of being the best.
Chief Guest Capt. Basu clarified in his speech how the world felt the need for a strong regulatory
a regime like MARPOL subsequent to a large oil spill from a ship and went on to explain how MARPOL
became the most important international instrument.
Special guest Capt. Jethwa emphasized the need for seafarer mental health and spoke from his
experience how to combat various challenges on board.
Various speakers enlighten the audience by various innovations & technology developments to
reduce the risk of Marine pollution.
Cadets presented their creative posters on MARPOL and drew large appreciation from the audience.
The seminar ended with prize distribution and a vote of thanks by HOD – MRE.

International Lawyers’ Conference 2023
The staff and students of School of Legal Studies, TNU, attended a Two-Day International Lawyers’ Conference on 23rd and 24th September 2023 conducted by the Bar Council of India in association with the Law Society of England and Wales, and the Bar Council of England and Wales. The conference was live streamed online for the benefit of the law students, teachers, practitioners, and researchers across India. It was themed on “Emerging Challenges in the Justice Delivery System”. The students witnessed speeches from different luminaries of the government. Some of the notable inclusions were Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi, Honorable Chief Justice of India, Dr. D. Y. Chandrachaud, Honorable Minister of Law and Justice [Independent Charge], Government of India, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Honorable Union Home Minister, Shri. Amit Shah. It was an enriching and enlightening experience for the teachers and students.
