Her Master’s research focused on multispecies farming under semi-intensive polyculture systems, particularly optimized species combinations and replacement strategies involving Indian major carps and olive barb, contributing to species diversification in aquaculture. Her doctoral research emphasized fish nutrition, with the development of innovative, cost-effective, sustainable, and environmentally friendly feeds using duckweed paste especially Lemna minor and Spirodela polyrhiza as organic binders with added benefits as alternative protein sources. She extensively worked on ornamental koi carp, a species of high commercial value. Her research interests include sustainable aquaculture practices; breeding and rearing of ornamental fishes; exploration of non-conventional protein sources such as insects, algae, and plant-based materials; utilization of agricultural by-products and fruit peels as feed additives; and the development of functional feeds (prebiotics, probiotics, antioxidants, immunostimulants) and medicated feeds incorporating bioactive compounds and herbal extracts. She has published several research and review articles in reputed national and international peer-reviewed journals, along with book chapters and popular articles. Additionally, she has actively participated in conferences and training programs, presenting her research findings, and has served as a peer reviewer for manuscripts submitted to Blue Biotechnology (Springer Nature) in 2025.
