The Department of Biotechnology at The Neotia University is one of the most dynamic and research-oriented departments, dedicated to nurturing young minds in the field of life sciences and applied biotechnology. The department provides a strong academic foundation combined with hands-on laboratory training, encouraging innovation and scientific thinking among students. Under the leadership of Dr. Prosun Tribedi, the former Head of the Department, the department flourished with an inspiring academic environment. Dr. Tribedi was not only a knowledgeable academician but also a great motivator, who constantly encouraged students to think critically, conduct meaningful research, and build confidence in their scientific abilities. During my M.Sc. dissertation, I had the privilege of being mentored by Dr. Anirban Dasgupta, whose guidance, patience, and constructive feedback helped me develop strong research skills and a deeper understanding of sustainable energy field and now, that is my research topic of the PhD. His motivation and encouragement played a crucial role in shaping my research aptitude and professional outlook. The dedicated and supportive faculty members of the department have always been approachable, fostering both academic excellence and personal growth among students. The laboratory facilities are well-equipped with advanced instruments essential for molecular biology, microbiology, and biochemical experiments, allowing students to gain valuable practical experience. Beyond academics, The Neotia University provides a vibrant campus life with excellent infrastructure, including a beautiful cricket ground that brings together students for sports and recreation. The annual fest “Impulse” is one of the most awaited events, filled with cultural programs, competitions, and performances that showcase the creative talents of students. The university also places great emphasis on career development, offering strong placement support and collaborations with reputed industries and research institutes, ensuring that students are well-prepared for professional opportunities in biotechnology and related fields.
