NOTE:

• Hostel Stay: Staying at TNU Hostel is optional, except for all Maritime Studies courses as per DG Shipping, Govt. of India rules. Additional fees apply (Rs. 45,000/- per semester + Rs. 23,000/- one-time fee) (Rs. 15,000/- refundable).
• Uniform: Mandatory for MRE (Marine Engineering), BNS (Nautical Science), and all courses under the School of Hospitality & Culinary Art and Management, or any other department as per University regulations. Charges as applicable (actual cost).
• Study Materials: Students are entitled to free study materials/books every semester.
• Hostel Accommodation: Separate hostels for boys and girls are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Charges apply (Rs. 45,000/- per semester + Rs. 23,000/- one-time fee) (Rs. 15,000/- refundable).
• AC Bus Transportation: Available from various parts of Kolkata and nearby areas on a first-come, first-serve basis. Additional charges apply (Rs. 22,000/- per semester – up & down).
  *Subject to revision by the management as and when required.
• Scholarships: 25% to 100% scholarship on tuition fees is available for eligible candidates as per the TNU Scholarship criteria, except for Vocational Studies and Post Graduate Courses in 2025–26.
• Eligibility Criteria:
  • For UG programs: Calculated based on the Best of Five (05) subjects in the Class XII board examination.
  • For PG programs: Overall percentage in Graduation will be considered.
  • For Lateral Entry: Overall percentage in Diploma will be considered.
  • Only valid and recognized boards/universities will be accepted.
• UG Course Structure: All earlier 3-year UG courses will now follow a 3 + 1 year pattern. The final year (7th & 8th semesters) will consist of:
  • On-the-Job Training (OJT): Students opting for OJT will pay Rs. 10,000/- per semester.
  • Research Work: Students eligible and opting for Research Work will pay the full semester fee for the 7th and 8th semesters.

• Lateral Entry or Migrated (Credit Transfer) students from other University are also available for all other UG / PG programs.

Humanities, Management and Social Sciences (A Master’s degree in Arts, Science, Engineering, Pharmacy, Psychology, Biotechnology or Business, Management and Agriculture, etc. with ≥ 55% marks or minimum ‘B’ grade for unreserved category of students and ≥ 50% marks or equivalent grade for reserved category students). NEP NOTE:

The students who will take admission in B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechnology / Microbiology / Psychology, they will have to spend 4 years and need to secure a minimum of 160 credits.  In that case, they must pay $163 in 7^th and 8^th Semesters.

However, the students who would like to get B.Sc. (Hons. with Research) in Biotechnology / Microbiology / Psychology, they will have to spend 4 years (with 160 credits) and which covers a 12 credits research course in the last year of their curriculum at the Department.  In that case, they must pay $350 extra in addition to $163- in 7^th and 8^th semesters.
