A report on First Harvest of Rice

Students of Agriculture Unit, School of Agriculture and Allied Sciences, The Neotia University organized “NABANNA” festival (First Harvest of Rice) on 18th November, 2022 in auspicious presence of honorable Vice Chancellor sir Prof. (Dr.) Biswajit Ghosh. He congratulated the students for successful harvesting of the matured rice crop. He also mentioned agriculture as an energy conversion device that transform solar energy into glucose i.e. food energy and advised our students to follow the principles of agricultural sustainability for the betterment of humanity. Students displayed all the activities done for last 120 days of crop growing period through a short video clips. They also performed during the days programme by focusing on the significance of the festival and its other forms (namely Nuakhai in Western Odisha, Bihu in Assam, Pongal in Tamil Nadu, Onam in Kerala, Lohri in Punjab) celebrated all over the country. Students received huge appreciations and word of thanks from Vice Chancellor sir, faculty members and all other dignitaries present during the programme.
