Robotics is an interdisciplinary branch of engineering and science that includes mechanical engineeringelectronic engineeringinformation engineeringcomputer science, and others. Robotics deals with the design, construction, operation, and use of robots, as well as computer systems for their control, sensory feedback, and information processing.

The robotics engineering sector is growing at a rapid pace, and promises to be one of the next biggest fields due to the rapid growth in the manufacturing sector. These engineers are engaged for design, construction, operation and application of robots that assemble the components to make the final product; thereby increasing productivity. Robotics engineers make work more efficient, faster, hazard free, and inexpensive.

The advanced curriculum structure of Robotics and Automation at The Neotia University, and the MoU signed with Phi Robotics Research Pvt. Ltd, expose the students to experiential learning that help them venture into myriad career pathways.

Dr. Ankush Ghosh, Assistant Professor

Dr. Ghosh has 10 years of teaching experience and an overall research experience of 4 years in the areas of Nanotechnology, Nanodevices, Spintronics, Intelligent Robotics, and Solar cell. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering with a specialization in Microelectronics. He has received several awards and recognition to date some of which are the Top Performance Mentor Award from NPTEL, Swayam, Govt. of India, Felicitation from NPTEL for successful mentorship of the NPTEL online course entitled, “Internet of Things (IoT)” and appreciation as a mentor from India Innovation Program by Texas Instruments. He has had 10 National and 22 International Publications in his name and has attended 10 International Conferences as well.

Mr. Md. Kamaruzzaman, Faculty (Part-time)

Mr. Kamaruzzaman has 4 years of teaching experience. He has a research experience of 2 years in Intelligent Mechatronics, Robotic Systems & WSN. He is pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechatronics Engineering. Earlier, he did his MTech. and received a National Scholarship for it as well. He has 1 National and 9 International Publications to his name. He has attended 3 International Conferences.

Dr. Pranam Paul, Assistant Professor

Mr. Paul has 15 years of teaching and research experience. He did his PhD in Engineering where he specialized in Cryptography and his research areas were primarily Cryptography, Data Security, DBMS, Computer Graphics, Image Processing, LTP, etc. His current research project titles “A Solution towards Big Data Storage and Data management for Efficient Data Handling in Secured File System Based Cloud Environment through Services” is under the process of review in WOS – B, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India. He had featured in the “Top 100 Engineers, 2011” and “Outstanding 2000 Intellectuals of the 21st Century, 2012” lists selected by International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England. He has 11 National and 79 International Publications on his name. He has been to 7 National and 4 International conferences organized by various groups.

Dr. Kalyanashis De, Assistant Professor

Dr. De has been 8 years of teaching and an overall research experience of 9 years in the field of Condensed Matter Physics. He did his Ph.D. in Physics and is currently involved in a project regarding the effect of A-site sophisticated disorder on the Electromagnetic Properties of ‘A-site ordered RBaMn2O6 (R= rare earth)’ perovskite. He has received several rewards and recognition, some of which are Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship by UGC, Postdoctoral Fellowship by FCT, Portugal, and Senior Research Fellowship by Indian Association from the Cultivation of Science, Kolkata. He has 10 International Publications in his name. Dr. De has been the PI of a project granted by UGC-DAE in the CRS scheme for 3 years (2017-19).

Dr. Ayan Chatterjee, Assistant Professor

Dr. Chatterjee has 2 years of teaching experience. He did his Ph.D. in Mathematics and he has overall 5 years of research experience in the areas of Mathematical Modelling of Contaminant Flow in Groundwater, Mathematical Modelling of Surface Water flow, Geo-Mathematical Modelling, and Transport in Porous Media. He has published 8 Research Articles in International Journals (5 SCI and 3 Scopus) and presented 2 articles at International Conference.

Dr. Debasis Das, Assistant Professor

Dr. Das has 15 years of teaching experience and an overall research experience of 5 years. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering with research expertise in material selection in mechanical design, decision making, and soft computing in engineering design, Design optimization. He has 3 research publications in Peer-Reviewed International Journal and 3 National and International Conference Papers to his credit.

Dr. Abhijit Samanta, Assistant Professor

Dr. Samanta has 8 years of teaching and an overall research experience of 12 years. He did his Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry and his research areas included Rheology, Interfacial Tension, Fluid flow through Porous Media, Enhanced Oil Recovery (Chemical & Microbial), Bioenergy, and Microbial Growth Kinetics. He has been a Junior Research Fellow under CSIR, New Delhi at Department of Petroleum Engg., ISM Dhanbad, and Postdoctoral Research Associate at Department of Petroleum Engg., Texas A&M University. He has 10 International Publications in his name. He has attended 6 National and 6 International Conferences. 

Dr. Santanu Ray Chaudhuri, Assistant Professor

Dr. Chaudhuri has 19 years of teaching experience. He has done his Ph.D. in Economics where he specialized in Economic Inequality and Human Capital & Growth. He has 12 years of research experience in Economic Growth, Human Capital & Inequality, Labour Economics, and Environmental Economics as well as 2 years of industry experience. He has had various awards and accolades bestowed upon him like a State Funded Scholarship, selected as a team member in the Capacity Building Project organized by Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, Resource Person on ‘Macroeconomics and Public Policy’ at South State Gujarat University, Surat and Resource Person on ‘Illicit Fund Transfer’, Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune. He has 7 National and 6 International Publications. He has attended 2 National Conferences.

Dr. Anindita Dutta, Assistant Professor

Dr. Dutta has more than 21 years of experience in teaching and research work. Her Ph.D. in ELT (English Language Teaching) primarily focuses on ICT (Information & Communication Technology) in Tertiary Education. Prof. Dutta had been a member of the editorial board for the International Journal of Humanities Social Sciences and Education. She has 4 academic textbooks and 9 Research Publications to her credit.

Dr. Debobani Biswas, Assistant Professor

Dr. Biswas has been teaching for twenty years and has a collective research experience of eight years. She did her Ph.D. in English Literature and her research area was “African American Drama”. To date, she has had two international and 1 National Publication to her name. Apart from this, she has attended 5 International Conferences.

Mr. Sunanda Chatterjee, Assistant Professor

Mr. Chatterjee has been teaching for more than eleven years now. He did his M.Tech. in Electronics & Communication (Modern Communication Engg) with research area as “Wireless Communication”. Earlier, he had done his M.Sc. in Physics as well. Currently, he has three international publications in his name while he has already attended two national conferences.

Mr. Rajat Chatterjee, Assistant Professor

Mr. Chatterjee has been teaching for eighteen years now and has industry experience of twelve years. He has done AMIIF (Sec A & B) in Foundry Engineering and M.Sc. in Ecology and Environment before that.

Dr. Chandra Mukherjee, Assistant Professor

Dr. Mukherjee has been teaching for eighteen years and has three months of industrial experience as well. She has an overall research experience of ten years on Room Temperature VOC Sensor. She did her Ph.D. in Environmental Science. To date, she has two national and two international publications in her name. Apart from this, she has attended an international conference as well.

Mrs. Soumita Haldar Chakraborty, Associate Professor

Mrs. Haldar Chakraborty has been teaching for more than nine years now. She has done her MTech in ECE with research area on VLSI & Embedded Systems and BTech before that. To date, she has four international publications to her name and has attended two national and two international conferences organized by various groups.

Mr. Ashoke Kumar Basu, Associate Professor

Mr. Basu has been teaching for seventeen years now. He has a total industry experience of twenty years and research experience of thirteen years on “Optimization of Power Systems”. He is an active member of the Institute of Engineers (India). He did his Ph.D. in Engineering. To date, he has five national and ten international publications to his name.

Mr. Bijoy Kumar Singha, Associate Professor

Mr. Singha has been teaching for eight years now and has industry experience of more than five years. He did his MTech in Microelectronics and VLSI Technology with research areas related to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Prof. Biswarup Mukherjee, Associate Professor

Prof. Mukherjee has been teaching for eleven years now and has industry experience of a year as well. He has an overall research experience of five years in Low power VLSI. He is a corporate member of The Institution of Engineers (India) and a member of the International Association of Engineers (Hong Kong). He is on the board of reviewers of several international journals/ conferences. He has received various awards such as the Best Teacher award by Honorable Vice-Chancellor of MAKAUT, felicitation by IEEE, Electron Devices Society, Kolkata Chapter, the “Awnkan Visharad” award from Sarba Bharatiya Sangeet O Sanskriti Parishad, a gold medal from the Department of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of West Bengal, etc. He has done Chartered Engineering and MTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering. To date, he has had four national and sixteen international publications on his name. Also, he has attended two national and nine international conferences organized by various groups.

Mr. Biplab Roy, Associate Professor

Mr. Roy has been teaching for seventeen years now. He has an overall research experience of five years in Biomedical signal processing, Reconfigurable architecture, and DSP. She did her M.Engg. in Electronics and communication. To date, she has had five international publications in her name and has attended three international conferences.

Mrs. Paramita Das, Associate Professor

Mrs. Das has been teaching for eleven years now. She has an overall research experience of two years in “Medical image processing”. She did her MTech in Radio Physics and Electronics. She has been a member of various bodies like The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), USA (2005-2006) and The IEEE Lasers and Electro-Optics Society, USA (2007-2009). To date, she has had one national publication on her name and has attended one international conference.

Ms. Ruchi Sharma, Teaching Associate

Ms. Sharma has 4 Years of teaching and 6 years of research experience in the area of Software Testing and Software Security & Reliability. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in CSE. She has had 10 International Publications and has attended 10 International conferences.
